Language, Timezone & Currency

Configure the foundational preferences that control how RankTurn looks, when it schedules, and how it shows prices.

A handful of preferences sit underneath everything else in RankTurn — they decide which language the interface speaks, which language the AI writes in, when your scheduled posts go out, and which currency you see. Getting these right early saves confusion later, because they quietly influence almost every other screen.

These settings live in two different places, and it's worth knowing which is which:

  • UI Language is a personal setting on your own account. It only affects what you see.
  • Content Language, Timezone, and the CPC display Currency are team (site) settings on the Business Profile. They affect everyone working on that site and the content RankTurn generates for it.

UI Language

Your UI Language controls the language of the RankTurn interface — menus, buttons, labels, and help text. It is a per-user preference, so each member of a team can use the app in their own language without changing anything for anyone else.

You'll find it on your personal account page:

  1. Open your Account settings (the personal settings page, not a team's Business Profile).
  2. Find the Language card.
  3. Pick your language from the selector.

RankTurn supports English and Japanese. Your choice saves instantly and the interface switches right away — there's no separate Save button on this card.

Because this is personal, it does not change the language of generated articles, and it does not change anything for your teammates.

Content Language

Content Language is a team setting that tells the AI which language to write in. It lives on the Business Profile, not on your personal account, so it applies to the whole site and everyone who generates content for it.

To set it:

  1. Open Settings > Business Profile > Basic Info.
  2. Set the Content Language field to English or Japanese.
  3. Click Save Changes.

This is the language RankTurn uses for keyword suggestions, titles, and full articles for this site. It is independent of your UI Language — you can browse the app in English while generating Japanese articles, or vice versa.

Timezone

Timezone is a team setting that defines the working timezone for the site. It controls how scheduled and published times are interpreted and displayed across the app — most importantly on the Content Calendar and when scheduling articles.

To set it:

  1. Open Settings > Business Profile > Basic Info.
  2. Click the Timezone field to open the picker.
  3. Start typing a city or region — for example "new york", "london", or even an offset like "+09" — to filter the list. You can also browse the full list, which is sorted by UTC offset.
  4. Select a zone. Each option shows its current offset alongside the zone name, e.g. (UTC+09:00) Asia/Tokyo.
  5. Click Save Changes.

The default timezone is Asia/Tokyo. The picker covers major cities for every common offset (including half-hour and 45-minute zones), and the offset shown accounts for daylight saving time.

Why it matters: when you schedule a post for, say, 9:00, RankTurn treats that as 9:00 in this timezone. Scheduling and the calendar both follow this one setting, so the time you pick is the time that's honored — no matter where you happen to be.

Currency

The Currency field on the Business Profile chooses how monetary values are shown for this site — specifically the CPC (cost-per-click) figures that appear in keyword data. The two options are USD and JPY.

To set it:

  1. Open Settings > Business Profile > Basic Info.
  2. Set the Currency field to USD or JPY.
  3. Click Save Changes.

When you first set a Content Language, the currency defaults to match it — Japanese → JPY, English → USD — but you can change it independently afterward. Switching the currency simply shows the same CPC figures in the unit you chose (¥ vs. $).

This is a display setting only. It does not change what you pay. The currency you're billed in is decided separately, by your UI Language (Japanese → JPY, otherwise USD), not by this field.

How These Interact

It's easy to confuse these four preferences because they all touch "language" or "money," but each does one specific job:

PreferenceScopeWhat it controlsWhere to set it
UI LanguagePersonal (per user)The language of the RankTurn interface, and the billing currency at checkoutAccount settings → Language card
Content LanguageTeam (per site)The language the AI writes keywords, titles, and articles inBusiness Profile → Basic Info
TimezoneTeam (per site)How scheduled/published times are interpreted and displayedBusiness Profile → Basic Info
CurrencyTeam (per site)The currency used to display keyword CPC valuesBusiness Profile → Basic Info

A few things worth remembering:

  • UI Language and Content Language are fully independent. You can read the app in English while a teammate reads it in Japanese, and both of you can generate articles in whatever Content Language the site is set to.
  • There are two different "currencies." The Business Profile currency only formats keyword CPC numbers. The currency you're actually charged in is derived from your UI Language. Changing the CPC display currency never changes your bill.
  • Timezone is shared. Because it's a team setting, everyone on the site sees scheduled times in the same zone — so a 9:00 publish means the same moment for the whole team.
  • Defaults are sensible but editable. Timezone defaults to Asia/Tokyo and Currency defaults to follow your Content Language, but you can override either at any time.
