Quick Start

Go from zero to your first published article in a few guided steps.

This guide walks you through the essential steps to get started with RankTurn — from creating your account to publishing your first AI-generated article. The first time you sign in, RankTurn drops you into a guided onboarding wizard that does most of the heavy lifting for you.

Step 1 — Create Your Account

  1. Visit the RankTurn website and sign up with your email and password.
  2. After signing in, you'll land on a Welcome screen that previews the three things you're about to do: enter your website URL, let AI set up your profile, and let AI generate your first articles.
  3. Click Get Started to create your first project (site) and open the onboarding wizard.

Tip: The whole setup takes only a few minutes. You don't need to fill in everything by hand — AI suggests most of it from your website.

Step 2 — The Onboarding Wizard

When you click Get Started, RankTurn opens a step-by-step wizard that sets up everything needed to start generating content. You move through it with Next (and can go Back at any time); a few steps are optional and can be skipped.

The wizard walks you through:

  • Website URL & language — Enter your site's URL and choose your content language.
  • AI analysis — RankTurn analyzes your site to pre-fill the next steps.
  • Google Search Console (optional) — Connect GSC to pull real search data. You can skip and connect later.
  • Business profile — Industry, business description, main product, target audience, and sitemap.
  • Competitors & strategy — Competitor sites, content pillars, pain points, and your content goal.
  • Writing style — The brand voice RankTurn writes in. This (plus your business profile) is what determines the tone of your articles — there's no separate tone setting at generation time.
  • Image style — The default visual style for thumbnails and in-article images.
  • First keywords & first article — RankTurn generates a starter keyword set and your first article so you finish onboarding with real content.

For a full walkthrough of every step, see Onboarding Wizard.

Step 3 — Add Keywords

After onboarding you'll have a starter keyword set. To grow your list, go to the Keywords page. You have three ways to add keywords:

  • Manual entry — Type keywords one by one, with optional metrics.
  • AI suggestions — Let RankTurn propose keywords based on your business profile. See AI Keyword Suggestions.
  • Import from Google Search Console — If GSC is connected, discover keywords from your actual search traffic. See Search Console.

See Keyword Management for the full picture.

Step 4 — Generate Titles

From the Articles page, open the Generate Titles dialog and set:

  1. Keyword (optional) — Pick a keyword from your list, let AI auto-select from existing keywords, or create with a new keyword.
  2. Content Type (optional) — Choose a template (How-to, Listicle, Review, and more) or leave it on Auto so AI selects the best template for you.
  3. Number of Titles — How many title suggestions to generate (1–20).
  4. Additional Prompt (optional) — Add any extra guidance for the AI.

Click Generate. RankTurn creates the titles for you and notifies you when the new title drafts are ready. See Title Generation for details.

Step 5 — Generate an Article

Open a draft article and start generation. You can keep the account defaults or turn off Use default settings to customize this article. Key options include:

  • Article Length — Choose how long and detailed the article should be:

    LengthApprox. lengthH2 sections
    Short~1,200 words2–3
    Medium~2,000 words3–5
    Long~3,000 words5–7
    Super Long~4,000 words8–12

Super Long is gated and only appears for eligible (admin) accounts. Most accounts will see Short, Medium, and Long.

  • Media & extras — Depending on your plan and settings, RankTurn can also add a thumbnail, in-article images, diagrams, screenshots, a YouTube embed, internal links, an FAQ built from the related questions Google shows ("People Also Ask"), a references section, and a promotion card.

There's no tone picker here — the article's voice comes from your business profile and writing style set during onboarding.

You can keep working while RankTurn writes the article. Expect a few minutes — typically 1–2 minutes, up to about 10 minutes for long, image-heavy articles depending on the length and how many images, diagrams, and other media options you've turned on. See Content Generation for the full set of options.

Step 6 — Review & Publish

  1. Open the finished article in the editor.
  2. Make any edits you want — adjust the title, tweak the body, update the meta description.
  3. When you're happy, click Publish.
  4. Choose the platform(s) to publish to (for example WordPress, Webflow, Notion, or GitHub).
  5. Confirm and publish.
